DAY 1 / BALI - BANYUWANGI
Get ready to be picked up between 9.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. by our driver who will take you to Gilimanuk Ferry Port. After departing from your hotel in Bali, you will reach the port in approximately 5 hours. Then, we will continue the trip by crossing the Bali Strait via ferry for about 1 hour. Upon arriving at Ketapang Port in Java, we will drive directly to your hotel in the Banyuwangi area to check-in and take a rest for the midnight adventure.
DAY 2 / MOUNT IJEN - BALI
Get prepared at midnight and we will start the trip by driving you to Paltuding, the basecamp of Mount Ijen. Upon arrival, you will have a coffee break and a safety briefing with your local guide. Afterwards we will begin a 2-hour trek to Ijen Crater. Here, you can get the chance to witness the dazzling blue lava-like rivers of light known as the Blue Fire phenomenon, visible only in total darkness. You will also see the traditional sulfur miners working inside the crater. Next, we will hike to the crater rim as the sun rises to see a panoramic view of Mount Ijen’s stunning turquoise acidic lake. After enjoying the view, we will descend back to the basecamp and return to the hotel for breakfast and to freshen up. Then, we will check out and drive to Ketapang Port to catch the ferry back to Bali. The journey continues with a drive from Gilimanuk Port to your hotel in Bali.
